American Symbols and Songs- The Pledge Of Allegiance

 In Social Studies, we continue to learn about American symbols.  On Friday, we learned about The Pledge Of Allegiance.  We discussed the meaning of the words in the pledge.  We practiced how to show respect to the flag when reciting the pledge.

Independent Reading- Building Our Stamina

 We continue to enjoy our independent reading time.  We are able to sustain our reading session for 20 minutes. Also, we are sharing our book choices with each other.  It is a wonderful way to share your favorite books and learn about your classmates' interests.

Addition And Subtraction Strategies

In math, we are exploring addition and subtraction.  We are focusing on different strategies and tools and how to use them effectively to solve problems.

Poetry And Math

 We enjoyed a wonderful rhyming book that tells the story of the mouse that ran up the clock. It was a great way to review telling time to the hour and to add a nursery rhyme to our poetry journals.

Report Cards- Friday, March 27th

Hello All

 The children will be bringing home their 2nd term report cards tomorrow.  I hope you find them informative.  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns that you would like to discuss.  I am happy to meet with you.  I am so proud of each of them.  I am so happy to come to school each day and be your children’s teacher. Our Theater Reviews 0f Curious George And The Golden Meatball

We went on a field trip to see Curious George And The Golden Meatball.  The show was nice and silly. I almost fell asleep but it was still nice. I liked it.

I watched Curious George And The Golden Meatball. I thought the show was amazing.  I liked the song, Go, Monkey, Go. Also, I liked Curious George's high voice. It was a great show. You should go, too.

I saw Curious George And The Golden Meatball.  I liked when George thought the bubble warp was his present because it was funny. Also, because he is happy. I thought it was funny. I hope I can see it again.

Yesterday, I went to see Curious George And The Golden Meatball. I liked the show because he thought the bubble wrap was a gift.  Also, I liked it because they were good catchers.They caught the meatballs.  I thought it was cool. I liked it. It was good.

My class and I went to the North Shore Music Theater to watch Curious George And The Golden Meatball.  I liked it because it had real props. I liked the scenery. I liked the way it moved. I hope I can go back to the North Shore theater.

Snowshoeing- It was the perfect outing!

 The children had a great time snowshoeing on Monday afternoon. The weather was perfect!

Book Making

We continue to have book making as part of our day! The children have been working on a variety of book topics.  During our mini lessons, we are focusing on narratives. Here are some samples of some current pieces.

Telling Time To The Hour

We just finished our unit on telling time to the hour.  The time museum was so much fun! Also, the children practiced telling time by reading the time on each other's high tech paper watches.
